But hey, lots of good things happened. Firstly, this was our first Ikasu with a table in the vendor's room and it's a far different experience. You get to talk to way more people which is very nice. In addition to the whole making a lot of money thing.
And then there was Joe K. Joe K bought a commission from Elise/Torchic23 on Friday of a Snorlax eating a cheeseburger (which turned out adorable btw). The thing is, he never can to pick it up. Before long it turned into a running joke (Are you jokay? Yeah, I'm feeling pretty jokay).
I loved my costume so much. My mom's friend made the kimono for me and it turned out so beautiful. I always get so happy when people ask to take my picture >w< I'll put up with the hassle of getting the silly obi on and off to wear the beautiful costume again. Now's the part when I look at pictures people took of me and lament how ugly I look in it DX
My wig got all tangled up during the rave though. At least I know there's ways of fixing that.
Speaking of the rave it was very...okay. I mean jokay. I'm just not really into that kind of repetitive music. It's very boring to me. But glowsticks are always fun and they were playing My Little Pony on the screen the whole time which was pretty entertaining. And I got to wear my Matryoshka outfit which ended up being way too hot but at least I looked cool(ish) DX
Oh yeah, the Mudkip Eggrolls dominated in this year's Starcade! We kicked ass in Marvel vs Capcom 3 (by randomly pressing button really fast until the other guy died)! We both got $25 gamestop gift cards! And a permanent spot on Starcade for being so gosh darn entertaining.
And then on Sunday, it happened...we actually got to meet Joe K! Turns out he was part of the staff and we'd actually been seeing him all weekend! But he was awesome about it and though our joke was funny. He even took pictures with us to commemorate this great event. It was awesome.
I'm probably forgetting things, but that's most of the highlights. My only regrets was the slight uncomfortableness of my costume, my stupid back being sore the whole time, and that someone who I won't mention by name was a little crabby and snapped at me a lot. I still love you btw.
Next year's is Ikasu's 10th year so all I know is that it's gonna be one hell of a party. I can't wait to see everyone there next year! I think Court decided we wanted to go as Ico and Yorda, which works out because I'm taller than her and they'll be easy enough costumes.
Also, I got my plane tickets for our San Japan trip! So at least I have a little something to help me wait.
